Iris Keeling is serving as president of Levelland ISD Board of Education. She has served on the board since 1998. Her current term expires in 2010.
 
Mrs. Keeling graduated from Levelland High School, received her Associate of Science degree from South Plains College, her B.S. degree in Agricultural Science (Horticulture) from Texas Tech, and her M. S. degree in Biology from Texas Tech. 

Ms. Keeling is employed by South Plains College as an Assistant Professor of Biology. At South Plains College she serves as an advisor for Occupational, Physical Therapy Education Majors.  At South Plains College she has served on the Student Advisory Committee, Process Action Team for Academic Advising, Chairman of the Curriculum Committee, Retention, Advisement, and Student Assistance Advisory Committee and received the Outstanding Instructor Award from Phi Theta Kappa. Iris has also been an accredited writer for Germania Insurance Company for the past twenty years.
 
Iris is active in the community, serving as a Girl Scout Troop Leader, Coordinator for the Amoco Science Program for the LISD Elementary Schools, Levelland Middle School Site-Base Committee, various committees at the First United Methodist Church, 4-H Project Leader and is presently serving as the president for the South Plains Association of School Boards. Iris is a member of the first United Methodist Church and Beta Sigma Phi. She has been recognized a Citizen of the Year and received the South Plains 4-H Distinguished Leader Award.

Iris is married to George R. Keeling. George and Iris have one daughter, Alycyn, who is a student at Texas A&M University in College Station.

David Etheredge has been on the Board of Trustees since 2001 and is currently serving as the secretary to the board. His current term expires in 2008. Mr. Etheredge graduated high school from Hobbs, Texas, received his Associate of Arts degree from Western Texas College and his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from Angelo State University. David has been the Assistant Professor of Biology at South Plains College for 20 years, primarily teaching Biology I and Biology II, Introductory Wildlife, Microbiology, and Biology for non-majors.

David is married to Laura Graves, he has three children, two of which are students at Levelland High School; Brandon is a senior, and Brooke is a freshman. His oldest son Dustin is a student at Texas Tech University.

John Alexander has been a dedicated member of the Board of Education since 1999. His current term expires in 2008.

Mr. Alexander is a native of Levelland and has deep roots in this community. He graduated from LISD. He is an active member of the Cactus Drive Church of Christ and is employed by Occidental Permian Energy as an Automation Technician. He also has been involved with coaching basketball and soccer for many years.  

John is married to Amy, who is a teacher with our school district. John and Amy have three children and one grandson, Craig is married and lives in Lubbock, Lindsay is a student at Texas Tech Health Science Center in Lubbock, and Maddi is a sixth grader at Levelland Middle School.

Joyce Johnson was elected to the Board of Trustees in May 2007. Her term will expire May 2010. Ms. Johnson graduated from Amherst and has lived in Levelland since 1984. Ms. Johnson worked for the Levelland School District until she was elected to the position of trustee. She is now employed by the Lubbock Independent School District.

Ms. Johnson's son. Lawrence, is a graduate of the Levelland Schools and has also recently graduated from Eastern New Mexico with a Bachelor of Science degree. 

She is a member of Holy Temple Church of God & Christ. Her hobbies are gardening, working in her yard, and caring for her family.

Glen Smith was re-elected to the Board of Trustees in May 2008. He previously served on the board from 1993 to 1999.

Mr. Smith, his wife and his four children all graduated from Levelland High School. Glen received his Associate in Science degree from South Plains College. He served in the US Army where he and his wife were stationed in Germany from 1958 to 1961. He retired from Amoco after 32 years, and is currently working as a supervisor for Oxy pulling units out of Odessa.

Glen is married to Nancy. They have 4 children Rodney, Billy, Julie and Terry all whose spouses but one were Levelland High School graduates. Glen and Nancy are both active members of First Baptist Church. They have 12 grandchildren and will be married 50 years in July 2009. When not taking care of grandchildren or working, Glen enjoys playing golf.

Tania Moody graduated from Coronado High School with honors, received her Associate of Arts degree from South Plains College, her B.S. degree in Science and Information Technology with an emphasis in Multi Media Animation from Kaplan University, and graduated Summa Cum Laude.

Tania is employed by High Plains Radio Network in a managerial capacity, and hosts Good Morning Texas and Tradio. Tania is active in the community, serving on the South Plains College Texan Club Board, Main Street Advisory Board, Design and Promotion Committees, Multi Purpose Event Center Committee, Thunder on the Plains Car Club Committee, L.M.S. Parent’s Involved President, P.A.C.E. Secretary, LISD Health and Wellness Committee, L.M.S. Site Base Parent Liaison, Babe Ruth World Series Committee, and is a member of Levelland Noon Rotary where she received a Paul Harris Fellow. She is active with the Levelland Chamber of Commerce and Mainstreet and the Past Presidents Task Force. She also served on the committee to build the United Skate Park.

She is married to Stuart Moody, Sound Technology Coordinator for SPC. They have a son Sam, who attends high school at LISD and a daughter Madi who attends L.M.S. Her father Rusty Hudelson, retired from SPC and mother Schahara Hudelson is an English Professor at SPC.
