Mr. Kelly Baggett, Director of Administrative Services, has been with the Levelland Independent School District for thirty years. Mr. Baggett served as assistant principal at Levelland High School for fifteen years from 1978-1993. He was appointed principal at Levelland High School in the summer of 1993 and served in that position until May 2001. He currently serves as the Director of Administrative Services & Personnel and has been in that capacity for seven years.
The area of responsibility of the Director of Administrative Services is to provide support to campuses and administration in regard to daily operation of the district. Mr. Baggett is responsible for:
- Oversees and coordinates personnel needs and issues including interviewing and principal recommendations;
- Serve as the chairman for the District’s Health Education Advisory Committee;
- Serves as complaint/grievance officer for the district;
- Coordinates and serves as the record management officer for the district;
- Serves as textbook coordinator for the district;
- Oversee the formulation, drafting, modification, and publication of all district handbooks;
- Coordinates with the campus principals the publishing of campus information brochures;
- Oversees the District’s departments of transportation, maintenance, and grounds/custodians;
- Assist the supervisor of transportation in coordinating all extracurricular/field trip travel, including approval of all travel requests;
- Assist the Director of Athletics in overseeing the use and maintenance of the District’s athletic facilities;
- Supervises the health services program for the district;
- Supervises and assists the coordinator for the District’s alternative education program;
- Coordinates maintenance repair with the supervisor of maintenance;
- Supervises the District’s employee travel including reservations, registration, and documentation;
- Coordinates the District’s hazardous material program, crisis management plans, asbestos management plan, and district health and safety programs;
- Assist the supervisor for custodial/grounds services regarding all personnel;
- Oversee and supervise issues regarding attendance and truancy, including representing the district in matters concerning court actions against students;
- Oversee and supervise the District’s discipline management plan;
Act as a liaison and coordinate any needed efforts with local law enforcement, public safety and/or municipal organization regarding safety and security of students and employees at school events and activities.
